Even after we married in 2017, we lived apart. But, as we all know life has a way of throwing us curveballs. Our plan (obviously) was to live there together some day and make it our home. And although unconventional it somehow worked. After all, it was her home (and still is), since 1960. Part of the deal in the house sale was that his mom would always have a place to live, and a place to call home. He purchased his house (which was his childhood home) from his mom and dad and moved into the basement, back well before we even met. We had a bit of an odd relationship in a way. He just didn’t like being in the house…and winter was a tough one for him. We didn’t spend a lot of time there in later years either unless it was summer when we could sit in the yard. When we started dating, we didn’t really spend much time at his house. If there wasn’t music (or something on) he was uneasy. I don’t think there was ever a time when we didn’t have music on in the background. I mean, this was my Dave’s collection…and I know for certain that there are many, many more surprises ahead because, for Dave, music was his thing.
